How to Keep Jeep Wrangler Door Hinges from Rusting and Sticking

Posted on: May 22, 2017

If you’re a Jeeper than you know the frustration that can come with taking off your doors for the summer. If it’s a ‘new to you’ Jeep, then those hinges are mostly like rusted up and the doors are going to be a huge pain in the rear to remove.

Here’s a simple 3 step process to get those doors loose and keep from sticking in the future.

  1. Use LIQUID WRENCH Penetrating Oil on the hinges. Spray the crease between the hinge and up from the bottom of the hinge after you’ve removed that bolt that locks your hinge on. Let it soak 10-15 mins. If you’re still stuck after that, give it another spray and let it soak a while longer.
  2. Once you’ve got those pesky doors off, enjoy the open air driving for a couple of days.
  3. When you go put the doors back on, use a little LIQUID WRENCH White Lithium Grease inside the hinge. Grab a rag and hold it under the hinge, then just fill it up with grease. Wipe away the excess and re-install the door. Now you’re doors will ready to be removed the next time the sun comes out!

Spray a little grease in the hinge each time you remove the doors for the best results.
